In Makrygialos

Gabbianos - virtually next door.  Great food, great service, family run taverna.

Petra Bay - on the beach, very friendly, very good food and lots of it, has both inside & outside places to sit.

Agryvoli - on the beach front near the harbour – one of our favourites!

The Olive Tree - near the harbour - another excellent eating place.

Green beach - Diaskari - they catch the fish on the day!! 

Takis-Voula - The cake shop - you’ll see the green seats on the right hand side of the road as you walk down into the village – you simply must go and enjoy a cake and coffee or soft drink. We love the Mille feuille!!!

Further afield

Dragons cave - turn left as you leave Grapevines, turn right along the coast road to Kala Nero. Traditional cretan food, most of which is grown on site.

Pefki - there are two wonderful tavernas here.

Stavrahori - in the mountains above Makrygialos.  Order a drink at lunchtime and they bring food! (and the drink) but you only pay for the drink!

Zorba’s restaurant, Sitia - an old fashioned café and taverna beside the harbour.
